Summer Reading Program 2026: Unearth a Story

In June of 2026, check our Facebook page for a full description of events.

Summer Reading is open to anyone 18 and under, with no membership or residency requirements. You do not have to sign up for Summer Reading to attend events or drop-in crafts.

The program is 100% free and largely supported by generous donations from our community partners. In the summer of 2025, our Summer Reading Program was supported by Salon 26, UP North Cafe, Syl's Cafe, Blake Auto and Service, The Ontonagon Herald, Citizens State Bank, The Squeeze on Main, Superiorland Library Cooperative, Cane Funeral Home, Koski Log Homes, Strong Dental Center, Rousseau Bar, Domitrovich Insurance & Real Estate, Borseth Agency Insurance, Lake of the Clouds VFW Post #5600, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Harbor Town Pharmacy, Knights of Columbus, Lake Superior Credit Union, Ontonagon County Telephone Company, Union River "Big Bear" Campground, Timberline Surveying, UPPCO, Pestka Construction, White Pine Copper, and several individual donors committed to summer fun and lifelong learning. Thank you one and all for your help!

The Ontonagon Township Library strives to fund each year's Summer Reading Program 100% through donations when possible. If you or your business/charity are able to contribute funding, prizes, gift cards, etc., please contact Sarah Hopper, the Library Director, at shopper@ontonagonlibrary.org.  We are able to use donations of all sizes and would be very grateful to have your support in any amount!
