Summer Reading 2022 will kick off June 20th and run through mid-August. Late sign-ups can be accepted into July, but you must participate or read for at least 5 weeks to be eligible for a prize.
Summer Reading is open to everyone 18 and under, with no membership or residency requirements. You do not have to sign up for Summer Reading to attend events or drop-in crafts.
The program is 100% free and largely supported by generous donations from our Summer Reading partners, including Portage Health Foundation, Syl's Cafe, Superiorland Library Cooperative, Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital Foundation, Cane Funeral Home, Koski Log Homes, Strong Dental Center, Domitrovich Insurance & Real Estate, Fraternal Order of Eagles 2239, Harbor Town Pharmacy, Knights of Columbus, Lake Superior Credit Union, Miner's State Bank, Ontonagon County Telephone Company, UPPCO, and several individual donors committed to summer fun and lifelong learning.
The Ontonagon Township Library strives to fund each year's Summer Reading Program 100% through donations when possible. If you or your business/charity are able to contribute funding, prizes, gift cards, etc., please contact the Library Director at LSiren@OntonagonLibrary.org. (PayPal donations can be made to the same address.) We are able to use donations of all sizes, and would be very grateful to have your support in any amount!
No OTL/OTPA Movie Matinees are currently scheduled. Watch out for another round of screenings in the future!
Movie matinees are screened upstairs in the Ontonagon Theater of Performing Arts at 3:00 P.M. unless otherwise noted. Admission is free (donations appreciated!) on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating may be limited due to Covid-19 protocols. Concessions available include popcorn and water (no carry-ins allowed).
